Angelina Jolie Movies - From Teen Model To Oscar Winning Actress And Humanitarian

Born in 1975 to actors Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand, Angelina Jolie began her career as a teen model in London, New York and Los Angeles.

She made her acting debut alongside her father in "Lookin' To Get Out" in 1982 when she was just seven years old. After her modeling career, she began making movies, and within a few years she had won her first Golden Globe for a TV mini series about George Wallace. That was quickly followed by another Globe for her role in the HBO movie "Gia", and then another Golden Globe and an Academy Award for her role in "Girl, Interrupted" the following year.

From there her career took off, and while on location in Cambodia to shoot "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" her life was changed again when she became aware of the plight of refugees and the poor. Since then she has been actively involved in many humanitarian efforts, and is now a Good Will Ambassador for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees.

Today she spends most of her time on her humanitarian efforts, and devotes one third of her income from film roles on charitable causes.

"Beowulf" on Blu-ray & DVD

Beowulf [Blu-ray]
Amazon Price: $8.62
List Price: $14.99

Beowulf (2007)

One of the early adapters of the latest 3D technology, director Robert Zemekis' "Beowulf" brings back to life the ancient fable of a monster and the man charged with killing it. Computer animated motion-capture technology (similar to what Zemekis used to make "The Polar Express") is used to transform the actors into their cinematic alter-egos, with Roy Winstone as the heroic Beowulf, Crispin Glover as the monster Grendel and Angelina Jolie as Grendel's mother. A fun ride filled with action, this is no scholarly retelling of the classic tale!

"Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" on Blu-ray & DVD

Lara Croft - Tomb Raider [Blu-ray]
Amazon Price: $5.99
List Price: $29.99
Lara Croft - Tomb Raider / Lara Croft - Tomb Raider, The Cradle of Life
Amazon Price: $6.50
List Price: $14.98

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001)

Based on the 1990's video game, "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" was Angelina Jolie's first foray into the action blockbuster, and she did not disappoint! She lends her toned-up curvaceousness as the buxom Lara Croft, aristocrat and swashbuckler, who must prevent a secret society from destroying the world. This involves lots of stunts and daring adventures in outlandish locales. A fun ride if you can avoid trying to take any of it seriously!

Great List,

My fav is "Wanted" for it's originality and unique screen play. Angelina was stunningly mysterious as usual and for a "Non Blockbuster" that didn't get much publicity I found it enjoyable. Sometimes those are the best.....
